Updates and Sneak Peeks šŸ‘€

Coming to you live, from the hopeful shores of a NNY Spring. Although, there has been an ice storm warning for this weekend. Might sound depressing to some folks, but itā€™s fairly normal here. We shall Allow . Mother Earth cannot switch overnight. All is well. It’s just that sometimes, after the snow melts, itā€™s ice storms. Annnnnd mud, garbage, poop (which also looks like mud yay), scary-paraphernalia, and flooding šŸ˜¬šŸ˜° so, there’s that. But hot on the heels of all that, comes GARDENING.

We call this “spring”, but loosely. I mean, itā€™s not 4 feet of snow anymore, but it’s also not simple rain and new flowers. The weather and all of it is really not a surprise though. And I find it interesting that despite folks knowing all of this up here, lots act like goldfish with the little plastic castle. (Heyyy Ani D. Or are we just complainers with nothing to complain about?) Anyhow, hereā€™s your reminder that one day soon, we will all blink or sneeze or glance away somehow or wake up to find the leaves and green simply returned, and the breeze full of grill smells and other toasty things burning, people racing their shopping carts down Academy, and thennnnn the bugs and heat.
So, maybe just watch where you walk. But definitely [kill your tv &] get outside. These are the very days- the ones that are getting longer and warmerā€¦ in just 3 months the days begin darkening again. All for good reasons though, and itā€™s wholly beautiful that we get to be a part of each and every moment of both the longest lightest days, and the longest darkest nights. There is life and expansion available in the cycles and the continuity and the balanceā€¦ and in our allowing it all, we find our place, it flows, we flow. We belong. (The garbage and paraphernalia not so much, but we can change that.) We don’t have to adore every moment of life. That’s not what I’m saying. Choose your hill to die on, though. Weather happens to be one of the more hopeless options, is all. Maybe we can begin to try and view it as a metaphor…or a springboard from which to be grateful for days when our biggest potential gripe is about rain.
In other news, we survived two end of winter viruses, and have been otherwise adventuring, spring cleaning, grieving the passing of a couple friends, as well as trying but failing not to notice the unraveling of the g o v t and wondering what to say or do- much like everyone else we know. On all counts. So thereā€™s that, if you were feeling similarly. Just buckled up and getting creative over here. Looking for the helpers and the light. Working on being the change. Steady as she goes. The BS we are witnessing is not sustainable. Stay right with your soul and only get into good trouble. Measure twice, folks. Remember how you can choose which hill? Yeah. Boundaries and education are necessary- but check you don’t become what you fear or loathe. Dig deeper and remember empathy. We have already tried to war our way to peace. Since forever. Clearly, it’s time for something truly r e v o l u t i o n a r y. Love leads, love wins. Lastly, that lovin applies to every neighbor, and all are neighbors. Where there is a will…

On the book frontJuniperā€™s Journey is coming along, and I wish I could share more. Not yet though, and itā€™s ok- itā€™s good like that. Squeee! šŸ˜āœØšŸŽØšŸ’ŒĀ©ļøšŸ“š

Below is another surprise (spring themed) and hint to hold you overā€¦ Itā€™s a slide from a different book in progress of mine. One that is ironically a big part of the creation process for the companion book to The Healing Heart Series. In the works right now is Part I of an anthology of my original written works interspersed with pages of my original artwork. It is titled Intimate Nuances and may even beat Juniperā€™s Journey to the press.

For a glimpse at the table of contents, and an excerpt or two- stay tuned. But before much more is revealed here, there will be two new related series being discussed/starting, over on the YouTube. I have been listening to peopleā€™s awesome suggestions and requests, and am all about helping make them happen. Thank you again for sending messages and poems and art and ideas and support. Iā€™m both honored and excited to announce the new series: one called Story Time, and one centered around poetry submissions/sharing. Getting some voices out and heard for reference in a time when we are all rightfully terrified to be left thrashing in the sudden dark for someoneā€™s hand. And some form of comfort to lean in to every week, couldnā€™t hurt. We are in whatever this is, together. Finding creative and healing ways to connect and share can be helpful. Iā€™m glad to be among those that are here for that helping. Join me?
It may not be alright out there right now, but it will be. Let’s hang in there. šŸ•Æļøā¤ļøā€šŸ”„šŸŒŒ
