About

Dana Gillan is a homeschooling mom, of mixed/Indigenous heritage, who lives in NNY with her family. She’s an award winning artist, writer, small business owner, curator, gallery coordinator, art superintendent, artistic director, art teacher, dance teacher, choreographer, four time grant recipient, community activist and volunteer, with a background and degree in psychology, dance/movement therapy, and the dance and theater arts. In addition, Dana and her children are domestic violence survivors. From that journey, came a passionate reemergence from the ashes, ablaze with healing and gratitude into a second life. A chance to do everything possible with the power of the arts and creation and connection to pass the healing forward to the community. With support, therapy, counseling, and doing the self-work, the lessons and comprehension lend to Dana the ability to now share the most valuable parts of that most humbling, transformative journey. The hope is that it only takes one spark to ignite an ember. No matter where one finds oneself along life’s path, there is always a way to reclaim the direction.
